Thin, thinner, Acer. The new Aspire S5 is to the date (according to the manufacturer) the thinnest UltraBook on the market. Acer’s new product is so great that the corresponding press release was published even before the official launch exhibition in Las Vegas — the Consumer Electronics Show.

The laptop comes with a 13.3-inch display, has an HDMI port, USB 3.0 and 20 Gbps Thunderbolt tech. At only 15mm thick, the S5 seems to have quite a massive body The Thunderbolt port that provides 20Gbps data transfers are parked on the SSD. A Dolby Home Theater audio is also on board, while in terms of battery performance, Acer promises that the power Smart technology will hold up to three times as long as conventional batteries.
Other goodies for the Aspire S5 include the Acer Always Connect app, which means that users can manage multimedia and data, even when the computer is in idle state. That goes hand in hand with the unique Acer Green Instant On technology for fast boot and resume that provides instant-resume functionality in just 1.5 seconds ensuring, at the same time, battery life that lasts several weeks.
The new Acer Aspire S5 will start shipping this year from May, but so far there’s no word regarding pricing. And one more thing we don’t know, is what processor is going to power that little beast.
